Untrained, unbothered, unforgettable. A music workshop for those who love music but recovering from traumatic music lesson experiences
Are you ready to just sing?
We are very serious about keeping singing casual.
This June as part of Pink Fest, Please Sing Casually is bringing our signature workshop to celebrate loving who you are! Same 90 minutes of pressure-free singing. Facilitated by two vocal coaches and a music therapist, we learn that music can be created together, and learnt up in one evening. Just on a Friday, at our favourite community partner venue, Proud Spaces.
If you have been with us before, you know what to expect — come as you are, bring your voice exactly as it is, and leave feeling a little more like yourself. If this is your first time, here is what we are about: no auditions, no performances, no need to impress anyone. Just people in a room, making sound together.
We begin with learning about vocal care, and exploring simple sounds familiar in our everyday lives — humming, sighing, toning. From there, we ease into collective learning around two songs chosen for this session. Our music is arranged in a way that it sounds good on its own, and also in harmony with others!
Hero — Mariah Carey
I Wanna Dance With Somebody — Whitney Houston
Each session closes with a group chorus that gathers what we shared, heard, and felt along the way.
