SG Queer Memory Project

Singapore Queer Memory Project is pleased to launch our ongoing programming with a series of presentations and activities, including our queer history timeline, art presentations, workshops as well as a storytelling series.

The storytelling series offers audiences an opportunity to connect and converse with queer storytellers sharing their part in queer history and in making community in Singapore. The first in the storytelling series, Connecting Our Pasts, features older queer individuals who have been participating in queer life and organising for decades. Ask and share about growing up pre-repeal and on days of active surveillance and harassment. Hear stories about how Singapore has changed, and hasn’t.

On 18 September, we will focus on pivotal moments and untold stories that have shaped the gay and trans community over the past three decades. A lively q&a is encouraged. Following the panel, we’ll shift focus to the experiences of queer women in a second, equally captivating conversation on 19 September. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate queer history from diverse perspectives in our Storytellers series.
